Experience required: none
Pay scale: $14 - $18 per hour

Assists Level 2, 3 and/or lead technicians. Will not be dispatched to jobsites alone (except in extraordinary circumstances). Is expected to help and learn at a steady pace. Is expected to manage their time and work with their supervisors and lead techs to generate billable hours at a minimum of a 50% efficiency. Is expected to be proficient with the following immediately (within the first two weeks):

• knows the names of all the tools used for the job
• knows basic jobsite etiquette and how to behave with coworkers, other sub-contractors, and clients
• knows basic jobsite etiquette and how to behave with coworkers, other sub-contractors, and clients
• can document work performed in a way that others can understand
• knows how to unload and reload the tools and the vehicles properly
• knows the names and descriptions of the equipment we are installing
• knows basic construction and technical industry terminology
• knows and follows Constellation Home Electronics procedures, policies, and paperwork

Must be proficient with the following within the first 60-120 days

• has and knows how to use all of the tools for the job properly
• knows how to properly terminate and test all cabling
• knows how to mount a TV using the mounts Constellation uses
• understands basic system flow and how to connect our most commonly installed equipment
• knows and understands basic pre-wire skills

Experience required: minimum 6 months, 1 year+ preferred
Payscale: $18-$24 per hour

Assist Level 3 techs on some projects, but also goes into the field alone and leads projects. Is expected to be VERY skilled with all of the skills of a Level 1 tech PLUS be proficient with the following:

• know how to effectively and properly install and/or troubleshoot/ service systems and electronics
• lead service work and installation projects
• lead pre-wires
• lead remodel/retrofit/service projects: comprehensive skills and site management for projects (basic to moderately difficult) beginning to end

Experience required: minimum 2 years, more preferred
Payscale: $24 and up

Level 3 techs should have a very high-level understanding and mastery of the tasks and skills required for Level 1 and 2 techs and also be able to teach those skills to others. Responsibilities include management and on-site work on medium to high difficulty projects and service calls. This position requires a high level understanding of ALL aspects of the CI industry and the ability to stay on top of projects, large and small. Success depends on leadership and communication abilities, technical skill, organization, and effective time/resource management.

Technicians at this level must be able to communicate effectively with clients, salespeople, other sub-contractors, general contractors, vendors and reps, architects, and any other individual involved in completing assigned projects. Advanced techs should be self sufficient, responsible, and accountable team players. Their rolls will not be limited to installation responsibilities, but will also include project management and coordination responsibilities as well as advanced office and paperwork duties on occasion.

Technical proficiencies/mastery will extend to the following:

• programming capabilities for all systems Constellation Home Electronics installs
• advanced troubleshooting capabilities of all systems we install
• comfort with difficult system problems and ability to work with other techs and factory tech support to solve them
• system design and documentation abilities
• some knowledge of sales and ability to work with clients on upgrades and additions
• advanced construction knowledge and ability to creatively solve difficult installation challenges
• advanced knowledge of specialty tools (including specialty power tools)
• intermediate/advanced understanding low and high voltage electrical systems and terminology
• advanced system/brand specific/mastery (installation, troubleshooting, programming)
